During cold nights under clear sky conditions heat will be radiated from the solar absorber plate to the glass cover and the cold sky (~15 degrees solder than the ambient air temperature). If the temperature at the inside of the glass drops below the dew point of the air in the collector, condensation forms inside the collector (and if it is very cold the collector will freeze). The following day, heat collected by the collector will need to be used to evaporate this condensation meaning it is less efficient. Additionally repeated condensation and evaporation may degrade the collector.

In this project you will examine this phenomena hopefully experimentally but also using software to model the temperatures and air flow inside the collector.
