In the name of GOD
I just want to thank GOD for helping me pass this exam as I don’t do the effort that I have to do for preparing for the exam due to the work responsibilities, but I do effort and GOD help me to clear it easy.
Before I start my LL I want to tell you that I face a very BAD situation before the exam, at 9:00 AM, I prepare myself to start the exam in the center, but before I do that , the secretary ask for my ID and I give her my ID but I had a problem in my last name as it is not mentioned in the ID but mentioned in my Passport but I just have my ID , she insists to let me bring the passport, I drive 40 Kilometer in a crowded streets but I drive very fast and thanks god I am safe now, taking the distance in almost 20 min then I return back with my passport and go to the exam, so be careful about your ID when you go to the testing center.
Finally I finish my PMP which take 3 months preparing but the actual preparing almost 4 weeks,
1- 35 hours I finish it but by 96 hours by PMD ( Project management Diploma) here in Egypt.
2- Prepare myself to read the PMBok at feb. but actually due to a lot of work responsibilities, as I do a work in all knowledge area in PMP starting from RFPs and select seller till the planning and execution of the project, it is too much headache , but too much experience in all PM fields.
3- Read the PMBok in 10 days just 30 to 40 pages per day and in light way …just go through it without memorizing anything
4- I did a reserve the date of exam from 6 monthes to be 31/5 but unfortunately my final comprehensive exam at MBA is 30/5 , so I postpone it to be 14/6
5- After reading PMBok I start reading RITA, but not memorizing , I just understanding all missing concepts.
6- Then in last 2 weeks, start read PMBOOK in an intensive way , make a notes ( I finish two note blocks writing my notes from PMBOK) I make it as a reference to me so I don’t need to read PMBok again.
7- I plan to read RITA again, but I actually don’t have time to do that, too much work killing me.
8- Not too much question I solved before exam, just go through the PMstudy chapter and 4 exams, ( I do some hacking to the site
… it is a very useful exams , to the point ,will help u during study and the nearest one to the real exam.
9- Don’t memorize the wrong answers, NO QUESTION IS THE SAME AS IN COMMERCIAL ONE.
10- Delegation almost 5 questions, and concentrate in professional and social responsibility – many questions come to cover it – take it seriously – I mean many questions.
11- Not too much calculation about 4 or 5 questions and is tricky in the percentage calculation.
12- My advice:
a. Just read the pmbok line by line
b. Understand ITTO, I didn’t memorize it, even I found a very good document do that like ( BIRDS stands for Brainstorming – Interviewing -…. ) but I don’t find it so helpful, just understand the TT and know where and what it will help the project.
c. RISK, Quality … is the most TT questions in my exam
At last
Just try now to apply and prepare all this process documents as I already have some, and we can share the knowledge and to preparing your templates it is much important to pass the exam, the experience that you will have from it is better, so I suggest to start sharing our experience in doing templates and problems faced in our PM life.
