: Problem Statement

The Sampling process isthe basis of digital communication and digital signal
processing. Through thisimportant process, a band limited, continuous time varying signal havinghighest frequency of fm Hz (e.g. Voice band, 0.3 – 3.4 kHz) can beconverted into a corresponding sequence of samples that are spaced uniformly intime.
The original continuous timevarying signal can be reconstructed by a simple low-pass filtering (LPF) withminimum distortion, only if the instantaneous samples are taken at uniformintervals of Ts seconds. This statement is known as the uniformsampling theorem. The upper limit on Ts can beexpressed in terms of sampling rate, fs = 1/Ts. The restriction, stated in terms of sampling rate, isknown as the Nyquist criterion, fs≥ 2fm.
Design and construct a SamplingCircuit and a Reconstruction Filter with appropriate devices and componentsas per the given design specifications. Test the designed circuits withnecessary input signals, verify Nyquist criterion and analyze theobtained results and submit a technical report in prescribed format.

Input signals
Continuous time varying signal:
i)Frequency: 3 kHz – 5 kHz
ii) Amplitude: 1V – 3V
 Periodic pulse train:
i)Frequency: Select as per Nyquistcriterion to verify:
Over sampling
Critical sampling (at Nyquist rate)
Under sampling ( to demonstrate Aliasing effect)
ii) Amplitude: 2V – 5V
